My Thanks
to the committee for inviting me to judge at this the worlds
greatest show, it enabled me to fulfil an ambition, I have
held since attending my first ever Crufts in 1958.
Today I was pleased with my winners, but I have to confess
to being disappointed with many on view, as flat skulls, correct
stops, and good movement appeared lacking.
In the
early classes, tail carriage seemed a problem with some, although
presentation on the whole was good, my hands remained clean
throughout. I enjoyed the whole experience, and thank the
exhibitors for their entries.
Special Puppy Bitch 18
(6) 1. Skyrme's Emryks Luv Bug Sable shown
in lovely coat & condition, good reach of neck and showing
very well, beautifully presented, good head type correct stop,
well bodied with good bone & she moved soundly, her eye
could perhaps be slightly more almond shape, but this did
not detract from the overall picture., well deserved Best
Puppy in Breed.
2.Goodwin & Withers Saheltra Satin Daisy
Feminine Sable, pleasing in head type, sweet eye & expression,
good outline and shown in excellent coat, which was presented
very well, promising puppy.
3. Grindley's Lanrue Dizzy Lizzy Today not
in her best coat, but I liked her head type, she has a good
stop & well placed eye, giving a sweet expression, used
her ears well, pleasing body shape and she moved with ease,
despite her lack of coat deserved her placing in this class.
Special Junior Bitch 22 (5) 1.
Cozens Vonarkle Victoria of Bhyllsacre Sable
who has the most superb outline, beautiful reach of neck and
length of body, where so many others failed, Good head and
eye, and using her well placed ears to give a pleasant expression,
her coat was very well presented, but as her age suggests
not quite in full bloom, one who should have a very bright
future.
2. Emryks Luv Bug
3. Harringtons Haradale Silver Orchid. Merle
carrying a very heavy coat of good colour and texture, I liked
her head type, with good length and she showed very well,
moved with drive and beautifully presented.
Special Yearling Bitch 16 (5)
1. Cozens Vonarkle Victoria at Bhyllsacre.
2. Hollywood's Lynmead So Charming for Amalie.
The presentation on this bitch was immaculate, pleasing in
eye & expression, and she has a well defined stop, good
ear placement and using them well, however, I would have liked
more length to her head and also to her overall body shape,
moved soundly, interesting to note that this exhibit, third
and reserve in this class, were all litters sisters.
3.Waterhouses Lynmead Simply Charming another
beautifully presented bitch in very good coat & Condition,
so sound on the move and showing well, has similar attributes
to her litter sister, but likewise I would like more length
in head, and would prefer more filling in foreface.
Undergraduate Bitch 15 (4) 1.
Abbott's Cotswoldway Crown Jewel This bitch
really stood away in this class, most beautiful sable of top
quality, her head is good with correct parallel planes. Well
filled forface, lovely dark almond eye giving a sweet expression,
well placed ears, which she used well, good reach of neck,
depth & Spring of rib plus well bent stifles moving with
drive, a strong contender for top honours.
2. Daley's Melayla My Blue Heaven Nice type
of bitch who was really up against it today, but no doubt
will do her fare share of winning, she presented a nice overall
picture. Good body & bone showed herself to advantage,
moved quite well.
3. Grindleys Lanrue Dizzy Lizzy
Graduate 13 (4) 1. Tames Pellismere
Cover Girl at Rahlissa Most attractive shaded sable
who has a quality outlook, nice head with good stop correctly
placed almond eye giving a pleasant expression,
Good reach of neck and outline, good hindquarters, moving
very well.
2.McEntee's Gerian Elsette Foxy Lady Her
golden sable coat was in top condition and beautifully presented,
I thought her ver similar to the winner and was very close
up, good head type, and I liked her eye & expression,
good outline, showing and moving well.
3. Atmore's Rantara First Choice Tricolour
with a gleaming Black coat with rich tan markings, good head
pattern, with well filled flat skull and correct stop, dark
eye giving a sweet expression, good ears which she used to
advantage, excellent spring of rib and well bent stifles,
moved with drive.
Post Grad 14 (2) 1. Caplans Arranbrook
Leading Lady of Whitecraigs. This young lady had
the length of head I was looking for, she was shown in super
coat & condition, which was enhanced by first class presentation,
appealing in eye and expression, correct stop, and when she
used her ears made an attractive picture, moved with purpose.
2. Loaders Redola Show Me Heaven Merle,
today not quite in full coat and appeared a little unsettled,
but she is a quality bitch and when she comes together transforms
her appearance, good in head, and has a correctly placed stop,
attractive outline and moved well, but I feel her handler
could have made more of her.
3. Jackson's Chrisarion Conchita to Sassari
Merle, another bitch not carrying a full coat, but she is
sound and of pleasing colour, she has a good head, and appealed
in eye & expression, well bodied, with very good bone.
Mid Limit. 13 (3) 1. Beaden &
Duffield's Classic Cliche at Angelfield Attractive
shaded sable who possesses a good head with well filled foreface,
correct stop, and shows herself constantly, she has a most
attractive outline, with good body and spring of rib, and
was presented to perfection, sound mover. And was very well
handled. I would just prefer a slightly better shaped eye
to improve her expression, but a worthy winner overall.
2. Planks Shasam Sad Sweet Dreamer of Rayvel
a Bitch of quality possessing an attractive outline, good
head, correct stop and eye placement giving a pleasing expression,
while she was in good coat, rather unusually it had very little
length, but well groomed, sound mover.
3. Bedford's Red Red Rosebud one who has
a beautiful flowing outline, super reach of neck and body
length well angulated rear, her head is good with a well placed
stop, good ears when she consented to use them, I would just
prefer a better shaped eye to complete the picture, unfortunately
was rather unsettled.
Limit. 14 (3) 1. Ritchie's Hanvale
Happy to Share at Aberquarrie Quality golden sable
in super coat which was really well presented, good head with
well filled foreface, and correctly placed stop, showing well,
excellent flowing body lines, well turned stifles allowing
her to move with freedom, I would just like to see a slightly
more almond shaped eye to complete the picture, nevertheless,
a very nice bitch.
2. Underdowns Ingledene Cupboard Love at Clynelish
Very similar in tupe to winner, good reach of neck and body
length, head type is pleasing with correct stop, nice dark
eye, well boned, and moved soundly.
3. McDonald & Philipson's Geosan Magik Box
Attractive quality sable shown in top condition, head is quite
pleasing, but with perhaps too much depth in stop. however,
this does not detract from her appealing expression. Showed
well, good reach of neck and well-bent stifle, moved well,
but rather weak in pasterns.
Open 16 (3) 1. Graingers Ch
Samhaven Forgotten Charm Top Quality Golden
Sable, Feminine bitch, good head, with well filled foreface,
and good jawline, correct stop, flat skull & showing herself
well, I feel her ears could be a fraction tighter, but this
did not detract from her pleasing expression, arched neck and
good length of body, well sprung ribs, and excellent turn of
stifle allowing her to move so soundly and tirelessly. CC
2. Margetts Colingvale Cornflake Beautiful g/s
with a clean head, well filled foreface, good stop, lovely
dark eye giving a sweet expression, I loved her overall outline
and she was expertly presented, moved well, and fully deserved
the Res CC.
3. Hawkins Aberquarrie Always a Dream at Brilyn,
this bitch was carrying a wealth of coat and was shown in
super condition, her head is correct if a little heavy for
me, good stop and filled foreface,
She is a well bodied with good bone, together with her immaculate
presentation she presented a lovely picture.
