MPD. 8 (2) 1. Jeffries Jefsfire
Lucky Sweep most promising tri almost 8months, appealed
for his overall outline, good neck, backline & hindquarters,
he has a lovely head, with moulded foreface, good under jaw
& correct stop he also has very good ears, plus a lovely
dark well placed eye, giving a sweet expression, ideal size,
and moving well behind, he is a most promising young man,
with a confident temperament.
2. Gartland’s Arcot Snow Patrol almost
9mnths, glamorous g/s who takes the eye,
He is particularly sweet in head eye & expression, very
neat well placed ears, which he can use, slightly shorter
throughout than 1, although he has good depth of rib and excellent
turn of stifle and short hocks, moved well both in front &
behind, I would just like to see a little more of him all
round. Beautifully presented.
3. Staffords Rannerdale Casanova.
PD. 6 1. Vidak’s Lacewood
So Special this youngster appealed for his beautiful
outline, he has a good neck & shoulder presenting a good
overall profile, he has good bone and neat feet, he possesses
a lovely clean head, with good stop moulded foreface, well
placed eye, and beautiful ears, just needs to firm up a little
in movement. BPD.
2. Haigh’s Shellsu Prince Solo I thought him to be
really lovely, he had the same outline as 1, and was shown
in vg body and coat, and his movement was sound, lovely clean
head, but he did not have quite the expression of 1 and his
ears need to settle, however, he is still quite young, and
time will be of benefit.
3. Gartland’s Arcot Snow Patrol.
JD. 7 (1) 1. Nixon’s Japaro
By Design When I first saw this dog, I had a penchant
towards him, I thought him to be quite outstandingly beautiful,
in full bloom with a wealth of coat, he is masculine, plus
he is completely balanced throughout, standing, he presents
a superb profile, he has an excellent reach of neck, set in
good shoulders, level topline, straight front, good legs &
feet, excellent turn of stifle and short hocks, which enabled
him to move so well, I found his head to be clean with moulded
forface, good stop well filled skull, and he has the most exquisite
eye & expression, and beautiful neat ears, a sheltie which
in my opinion befits the standard in most aspects, plus immaculate
presentation. It appeared that he is a dog who is quite independent,
and was not impressed by having to conform, appearing quite
in his attitude and he was inclined to vacillate. Despite
his lack of co-operation with his handler, I found him to
be of outstanding merit, and was very worthy of the main award,
therefore it was a great pity that he did not regain his composure
in the challenge sufficiently enough, coming so very close,
I hope as he matures, he will gain the equinaminity that will
take him to his title which he so deserves. Res
CC.
2. Rigby’s Lythwood Sacha This dogs
greatest asset is his outstanding movement both in front and
behind, shown in excellent coat & condition he has a beautifully
moulded head with flat skull correct stop, well filled foreface
and good under jaw and very good ears, he has good depth and
spring of rib presenting a good overall profile, he was in
full unison with his handler, while he has a dark well placed
eye he had not quite the sweetness of expression as 1 nevertheless
he is a sound dog, who will no doubt gain his title with ease.
3.Pierce Philhope Lady Killer.
Y.D. 8 (2) 1. Bendelow’s
Marilake Likewise of Amethricken. Red/gold
sable,, today he was not in full coat, but he was beautifully
groomed which enhanced his appearance but at 22mnths, he is
still at the juvenile stage, he has a nicely moulded head,
with well filled flat skull, rounded muzzle, and correct eye
placement & good ears, he was very competently handled
to every advantage, and a very good showman, I would just
like to see him with a little more neck, having said that
he is a most attractive dog, and when in full coat will always
be considered.
2. Ambler’s Ellenyorn Private Benjamin.
Another red sable who is very mature, slightly bigger than
1, and not quite as refined in head, he moved well round the
ring, and has excellent body and bone, shown in good coat,
he has a good foreface and stop, and well placed eye and neat
ears, I would just prefer slightly better angulation behind,
another who was well handled and presented.
3. Jeffries Jefsfire Happy Wanderer.
PGD 9 1. Chater’s Rannerdale
The Playboy this dog could not be denied his placing
on his quality, what I liked the most about him, was his natural
stance, being alert, and showing interest in his surroundings
without the actual trained show pose. his handler quietly
allowing him to stand and lift his ample neck to show himself
without intrusion, which allowed me to focus on his virtues,
he is a dark red sable in full coat, he has a superb outline,
correct shoulders, and excellent depth & ring of rib,
good length of body, good front, and hindquarters, and moved
especially well, I found his head to be a clean wedge with
well placed eye, giving the desired expression, and super
ears right on top, I feel his stop could perhaps be a little
more defined, but one has to look at the dog as a whole and
judge him accordingly.
2. Scott’s Penrave Perfect Royal
I liked this young man a great deal, he had the same super
outline of “Playboy” unfortunately he was disturbed
by the echoing noises of the venue, and seemed unable to settle,
at the times he did regain his composure one could appreciate
his many qualities particularly his excellent hindquarters,
turn of stifle and short hocks, as he moved quite superbly,
he hada good wedge defined stop, well placed eye & good
ears, I feel it would be unfair to compare his expression
with 1 owing to his veins protruding, which affected him,
because of his intuitive misconception of the proceedings,
in different surroundings this could change considerably.
3. Hunts Chelmarsh Chauffer.
LD. 13 . This was rather a mixed
class for type. Which was headed by
1. Hainsel’s Sherkarl Son of A Gun.
4yrs in his prime, overall he is a very nice dog, and won
me over for his most lovely head, clean without any coarseness,
well filled flat skull, good stop, and the most lovely eye
& expression, he was in good coat with excellent body
lines, he had a reasonable neck, but it was his excellent
movement which commands attention.
2. Nixon’s Japaro Special Agent pale
g/s carrying a wealth of coat another from this kennel with
excellent movement, and I see he is one of the many which
were placed sired by “ Sixsmith” which obviously
appealed to me, this 3yr old could certainly carry you away
with his beautiful head, and his ultra sweet expression almost
to the point of feminity, he has vg bone, and steadfast hindquarters
which was a contributing factor to his excellent movement,
I would have preferred to see him with more reach of neck,
which would have greatly enhanced his profile, however, he
has much to offer the breed in various aspects.
3. Bendelow’s Sterndale Moon Illusion of Amethricken
Open D. 11.
A wonderful quality class with some superb dogs including
some of the breed’s notable champions, and it was no
disgrace to be unplaced in this class of top quality males
which I had the privilege to judge.
1. Anderson’s Swe/Fin/ Es/ Ch.
Lundecocks Xit from Hell. When this tri came
into the ring, he stood with all the charisma of the special
ones who exude presence, he almost gave the impression of
looking at his competition to see who would be 2nd. He was
in magnificent form with every hair in place and gleaming
with condition. I considered his overall profile to be quite
outstanding, he has not much in the way of glamorous markings,
being devoid of a white collar, which in fact emphasised his
excellent construction to see he flowing body lines, lifting
his neck to show his excellent shoulders, level backline,
and sweeping hindquarters, to watch him move was indeed a
pleasure, driving from the rear, retaining his excellent level
topline
which could carry a plate and never fall off, together with
his reaching front extension, he could not be overlooked,
looking at his head, I found him to have moulding in foreface
strength of underjaw, and a well defined stop, and superb
ears right on top, his eye is almond shaped but he does not
quite have the expression of some of his competitors, however,
I felt that a dog of this calibre should not be eliminated
because of personal preferences, and would have been unfair
to penalise him as such when his other virtues were in abundance.
CC & B.O.B.
which I understand completes his title, it was nice to hear
later that he was short listed in the group Congratulations!
2. Norman’s Francehill Only Me It
was nice to see this dog again, as had awarded him BPIB at
a previous show, He has now matured into a most beautiful
exhibit, His head in particular I found to be excellent, in
contrast to1 he is definitely a glamour boy, shown in full
bloom with immaculate presentation He is a pale g/s with vg
bone good body lines and hindquarters, and moved well going
away, he presented a good challenge against the winners, and
only his slightly shorter neck influenced my decision, one
whom I feel is also worthy of his title.
3. Pearson’s Ch. Edgloninan
Impossible Dream.
MPB (15) (2) What a joy to judge
this class of super babies, my reselection consisted of 8
all of which I liked immensely and no doubt will go on to
win well, only by splitting hairs could they be separated
1. Scott’s Penrave Princess Royal bright
g/s of 8mnths I really fell for this beautiful baby, in my
opinion she has everything there and only needs to mature
on to make a reputation, I feel her head is correct at this
stage of development with no exaggerations and clean, her
beautiful dark eyes giving a “merry” expression
and, this puppy could capture the heart in a second, she is
completely balanced good neck & shoulder, movement so
sound for one so young, only her extreme youth prevented her
from going further, one who I would have liked to have brought
home with me.
2. Weller’s Evad Magic Amber s/s
this little girl was slightly longer and more racy with a
wonderful air of quality, she impressed me with her lovely
neck and good shoulders &, superb hindquarters, another
with a clean wedge head correct stop, and very neat well placed
ears sweet eye & expression, and moved well, I think between
them all each one of them will change places often.
3. Hateleley’s Mohenesee More than a Wish.
PB. 13 (1) 1. Hateley’s
Mohenesee Dolly Belle on my initial assessment
this young lady made quite an impression, 11mnths g/s beautifully
presented, her whole demeanour took my attention, she stood
with all the confidence to show off her superb profile, very
feminine in outlook with correct length of body, most lovely
head and eye ears on top which she used, her excellent reach
of neck, good shoulder , back line and hindquarters altogether
made a pleasing picture and so typical of this kennel, moved
soundly behind, just needs to be a little more positive in
front action to challenge her senior competitors, I was told
this win gave her , her Junior Warrant, which did not surprise
me. Well done! BPIB.
2. Porters Chelmarsh Fancy Pants this little
lady was very nice to handle, she had the similar make &
shape as Dolly Belle, very well constructed, bright g’s
excellent front & hindquarters and sound movement she
has a very good head, she had a almond eye but could not quite
match the exceptional expression of 1.
3. Glover-Guest Tramarllan Dead Cert at Doonelodge
I feel she is very much a “Live Cert” as this
lovely tri had a wonderful conformation together with a very
nice head, one that will be heard of again..
JB. 14 (3) 1. Hill’s Rannerdale
Moondancer at Ronmere just out of puppy and still
carrying her full puppy coat, bright/s so typical of this
prefix, she had a good outline and front assembly feminine
in outlook typical sheltie head with correct stop, sweet eye
& expression, good turn of stifle and. short hocks, won
her placing on her slightly more moulded foreface. Over
2. Bray’s Terriwood Summertime Girl at Lianbray
initially I thought she was my winner, I loved her feminine
outlook, and elegant body lines at 19mnths looking more mature
than 1, I was slightly irresolute in my opinion here, as I
loved the overall outline of this bitch so much, she had a
clean head and lovely eye and expression, a difficult decision
between them both, on another day could easily change places
with above.
3. Patridge’s Rainelor Ramani
YB. 11 (1) 1. Stafford’s
Rannerdale Lady Penelope after perusing my
catalogue later, it was not surprising that I was completely
captivated by this especially delightful bitch, as I was very
much attracted to the dogs bred from this kennel, at 19months
she is obviously not as mature and finished as some of her
older competitors, but her fresh youthfulness added to her
appeal ,being very much what I like, she was so completely
feminine and took my eye immediately, her head I found to
be a pleasure to look at, being analogous to my previous and
later placings, When I looked at her, she appealed in head
, with all the essentials. moulded foreface good lip line,
and underjaw, also for her most lovely eye & expression
giving all the sweetness the breed portrays, obviously she
does not have the depth & finish in length of coat at
this stage, however, she had nothing to hide in her construction,
which I found to be excellent , using her ample neck, emphasising
her beautiful outline, she has a totally plain sable “show”
side, right down to her toes which can create an optical illusion
in her movement, however, I found her to move well as she
had good front & hind angulation. I felt she was the one
that was worthy of the CC, and
I feel can only go on to improve further.
2. East’s Jaquard Call My Bluff rich,
s/w who’s movement was so very sound, shown in full
coat which was well presented, another with a lovely head,
moulded foreface and excellent lipline super ears, she has
a very good body with depth & spring of rib, & well
angulated behind a very nice bitch overall.
3. Deveson’s Glensanda Genevieve.
PGB 15 (3) 1. Glensanda
Genevieve came up from the previous class This darker
sable is extremely nice, I loved her head, she was carrying
a very good coat and presents a beautiful picture from any
angle she has a vg profile lovely head good ears which she
knew how to use, and moved so soundly. Well handled.
2. Parkers Edglonian Deroyels Lady at Tolarock
a most striking merle who excelled in overall construction,
her neck and shoulder, hindquarters and overall construction,
I felt was nearly a match of my Dog CC winner, she was carrying
a very heavy coat, almost touching the floor, attractive blue
although she was quite heavily marked on one side of her head,
despite this, one could appreciate her head qualities, clean
wedge, with good stop, well placed eye, perhaps her ears are
little big, but this was not apparent until handling, and
was not any detriment to her, her movement was quite something
else, she floated round the ring, with apparent ease, and
could have worked all day, a most attractive sheltie, who
can hold her own any company object lesson in presentation
.
3. Whitchurch’s Shetisha Black Widow.
LB 23 (4) 1. Porter’s Chelmarsh
Caviar aptly named tri, she is so sweet one could
almost eat her up! 4 Yr old, in superb coat & condition,
jet black coat and rich tan markings, she has a balanced outlook
with firm backline, very good depth & spring of rib, good
bone legs & feet, ideal size so very feminine, being slightly
shorter throughout although completely balanced, she was lovely
to handle with a clean wedge head , correct stop, well filled
flat skull good ears, and a dark well placed eye, giving the
sweetest of expression, moved well fore & aft and found
there was nothing to dislike about this charming bitch, who
was so full of quality, I am sure she has many other admirers
from the great approbation she received on winning the Reserve
CC, in this form should continue her winning ways.
2. Scott’s Degallo Destiny’s Child
this sable took my eye for glamour in full coat, which was
presented to perfection, another of ideal size, with excellent
conformation, especially good hindquarters and movement, lovely
head, and neat ears using herself well, the same lovely type
one associates with this kennel, unfortunate to meet Caviar
on the day.
3.Hardman & Robinson’s Seavall Smartie.
OB. 11. 1. Wellers Evad
Magic Jade 2yrold mature bitch with everything going
for her, she has a classic outline, with a swan like neck
set in excellent shoulders, perfectly level backline, good
front and hind angulation, she is now quite finished in head,
which is perfectly moulded, with correct stop, well filled
flat skull well placed eye, giving a soft enquiring expression,
her ears were on top, using them constantly, moving with effortless
ease, while she had a full mane and sweeping petticoats, I
felt that she had lost some of her coat. round her neck and
body, which influenced my judgement of her in the challenge,
her quality is such she has little to prove to do justice
to the standard, I feel in full coat should gain her champion
title.
2. Scott’s Degallo Look at Me rgs
one could definitely not look at her! She is so feminine with
all the glamour and quality to take her to the top, very much
the type I like having all the essentials plus a charismatic
temperament , moved out well, most lovely head and eye so
typical sheltie, very good body lines, excellent bone, good
depth & spring of rib, shown in top class form.
3...Staffords. Ch Rannerdale
Angel of the North.
